The Rev. Nancy Eggert

Rev. Nancy Eggert grew up in Milwaukee and moved to Washington, DC in 1977 for her job as a lawyer for the National Labor Relations Board.  While in DC she attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American in 1995, and then retired from the Labor Board.

Rev. Nancy began her ministry in a multicultural parish in suburban Virginia, and then became Executive Director of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. After a number of interim pastorates she retired and moved back to Wisconsin in 2010 to be closer to family and establish a mini-retreat house on the shores of Lake Michigan in southeast Racine County.

Rev. Nancy took advantage of summer courses in Anglican Spirituality at the Nashotah House Seminary near Delafield, Wisconsin, and received a Masters in Sacred Theology in 2012.  Spiritual direction has been a significant part of her ministry since the 1980s.  Nancy offered spiritual direction at the Virginia Theological Seminary, and currently shepherds the spiritual direction program at Nashotah House.  Nancy states, "It has been a joy to serve as affiliated clergy this past year at St. Luke’s and I look forward to being with you as long as needed."

Rev. Nancy is also pleased to assist in the transition at the Hospitality Center. “What is a Hospitality Center?” she asked herself shortly after arriving in Racine. After enjoying many cups of coffee over the years, the answer is becoming clearer. "It is my privilege to be assisting in the transition at the Center.  My first official duty was scrubbing pots and pans one early Monday morning after a Friday kitchen mishap! I love the place and all the people who make up the Hospitality Center community."
